Zip line set to fly in 2021! Early bird tickets now on sale

Modified operations follow public health guidelines and ensure optimal safety for visitors and staff.

The National Capital Region’s tourism industry will be able to count on the world’s first interprovincial zip line to help attract visitors to the region in 2021. Starting today, adrenaline junkies can purchase their tickets to be among the first to soar above the Ottawa River on Interzip Rogers at https://interzip.ca.

Interzip Rogers’ construction is progressing well on the Zibi site and the attraction’s promoter, creative agency Orkestra, is confident it will be able to welcome riders in the spring of 2021, while respecting all Quebec and Ontario public health guidelines in place at the time.

“The public can look forward to adding the region’s most exciting tourism activity to their calendar for 2021! The Interzip Rogers launch tower has been erected on Chaudière Island on the Ottawa side of Zibi, and people can already admire the 120-foot high structure, which overlooks the magnificent Ottawa River. We continue to follow the situation closely, and the public can rest assured that we will adhere to all Ontario and Quebec public health directives to ensure the safety of our visitors and staff,” said Orkestra Co-President, Alex Van Dieren.

Welcome news for the tourism industry

With today’s announcement, the region’s tourism industry is thrilled to be able to rely on Interzip Rogers as an outdoor tourism activity that can safely proceed in the spring.

The zip line, a concrete large-scale project in the Outaouais, will act as a gateway to Quebec and encourage Ontarians to visit our region. A safe outdoor activity by reservation only

The event’s promoters are committed to implementing the directives outlined in the Alliance de l’industrie touristique du Québec’s Plan sanitaire COVID-19 de l’industrie touristique, based on INSPQ’s recommendations, and the Event Safety Alliance’s Reopening Guide for event professionals during COVID-19 in Ontario.

As such, only those who have purchased tickets online will be able to enter the zip line facilities. Ticket holders will book a specific time slot, enabling the organizers to control the influx of participants at all times, as per the public health security measures enacted at the time. Ticket holders will be notified when it is possible to book their preferred date and time slot.

Additional health and safety protocols will include the disinfection of all equipment, like harnesses, trolleys, and helmets between riders. Extra masks and safety gloves have also been ordered for riders and staff, to ensure optimal safety.
