Gatineau, May 8, 2023 – Zibi is partnering with the Ottawa Tool Library (OTL) to host a Repair Café on Saturday, May 13 from 10am until 3pm. In line with Zibi’s One Planet Living (OPL) principles, Repair Cafés are an international concept that the OTL brought to Ottawa in 2017 with a goal of reducing landfill waste, exchanging skills, and building community.
How it works?
- Registration of the broken item (only one please) is first come first serve (last items are registered at 2pm)
- Items can include small appliances, jewelry, clean clothes, small furniture, bikes, electronics, and more!
- Community members are invited to meet and work with a volunteer fixer to learn new skills and repair their item
Everyone is welcome at this free event, which will take place at La Ruelle, at 15 rue Jos-Montferrand in Gatineau, next to the Chaudière bridge. As an OPL community, we always encourage walking and cycling; however, paid parking is available onsite. The site can also be accessed by public transit via the LRT (Pimisi) or the STO (Terraces de la Chaudière).
This event is sponsored by the Dream Community Foundation.
